Steel Cutting

In a ceremony held at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, MSC Cruises’ Executive Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago and Fincantieri’s Chief Executive Officer Giuseppe Bono launched the cutting of the first steel of the new ship MSC Seashore.

In Fincantieri, Monfalcone - Italy, MSC Seashore celebrated her traditional coin ceremony where two coins were placed under the new ship’s keel as the historical maritime sign of blessing and good fortune.

Float Out Ceremony

The float out of MSC Seashore took place at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. This is a major milestone in ship building as it is the first time a new vessel touches water and sees the ship enter the next phase of construction.

Delivery Ceremony

An intimate ceremony was held to mark the occasion as tradition dictates at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone and was attended in person by MSC Cruises Executive Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago, other members of the Aponte and Aponte-Vago families, Giampiero Massolo and Giuseppe Bono, Chairman and CEO of Fincantieri, as well as representatives from MSC’s new builds team along with executives and workers from the shipyard.

Naming Ceremony

MSC Cruises officially named its newest flagship MSC Seashore at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas. Having set sail from PortMiami, this is the first naming ceremony for a cruise ship to be held at a private island and presided over by Hollywood royalty Sophia Loren, who performed her role as Godmother to an MSC Cruises ship for the 16th time.
