He joined MSC Cruises as a Second Officer in 1994, having already acquired substantial experience in the cruise industry. In 2001, he was promoted to Staff Master on MSC Monterey and then to Master in 2005. Captain Romano has led ships in the Lirica and Musica classes as well as MSC Melody.
